So welcome to my world....
A world which has been full of music of all kinds since childhood
and wouldn’t be the same
without it. I do hope you enjoy this album.
This latest CD, my sixth, is dedicated to love. Not just to my
love of music and live performance,
but the way in which love flows in and out of one’s life and the
emotions it brings with it, be they
joyful, or sometimes painful. You have to live it to express it, so
they say and there’s no better
vehicle for expression than music and song in my view.
It’s been thirty six years since I first taught myself to
play guitar. During this time I’ve remained
mostly hidden from the world, although like all aspiring writer/composers
I live in hope of
gaining recognition for my life’s work. I've enjoyed limited exposure
to the public and been
privileged to share the stage with many world class Artiste’s
and Master Guitarists whilst
running my own acoustic club. I hope that my quest to remain original
is reflected in this
latest collection of songs and instrumentals.
This Album has been performed on my Washburn 6 string Acoustic
Guitar, using 3 different
tuning styles, Standard, Open E and DADGAD. All songs have been played
in my own
unique finger-style, sometimes recorded using open mic, sometimes plugged
in direct, and
sometimes a combination of both. Each Guitar part has been played twice,
which was a
challenge in itself, and this has not only produced a fuller sound,
but an interesting duelling
effect. I’ve used Synth’ for a suggestion of Orchestration,
Bass, Strings and Solo parts, though
in the main I’ve tried to keep the overall feel Acoustic where
the writing styles would allow.
The Vocals and Harmonies have been individually tailored to suit each
song.
I would like to thank Jason Burgess, Simon Rondle and all my Friends
and Fans out there for
encouraging me with this latest solo project and in particular Jean
Cox for bringing the
sunshine back into my life and inspiring so much new material.
I thank you for wanting to own this CD and I hope that it touches
your heart, inspires you and
finds a cherished place in your music collection.
Love and Peace…Phil.
