July 26th 1999:- FUNDRAISING FOR FORTY HALL

Eddie Allen provided us with a night to remember on Monday 26th July - what a wicked guitarist!! For all the guys out there who think they know it all - well you missed the opportunity to play with really expensive equipment - including a £12,000 guitar and one of ERIC CLAPTON's custom guitars!!!!! There was something for everyone and Eddie is such a great guitarist - the demonstration was interesting, educational and entertaining. Some of our members got free T-Shirts and everyone received a free CD featuring Bryan Adams, Hank Marvin & The Shadows, Amp Demo's and FREE Backing Tracks, PLUS his HOTLINE number. I was pleased to see so many Club Members and Newcomers although I have to say - anyone who wants to winge about not being able to jam with Eddie only have themselves to blame - this event has been advertised since the beginning of JUNE (read your Newsletter!!) AND you can hardly expect to turn up LATE and then play when others have been there ALL NIGHT!! Nuff Said. WELL DONE - DINO (guitar), STEFFAN (drums), DAVE (Bass), who played really well on Redhouse - Eddie was really impressed with the youngsters ability. ALAN (guitar/vocals), ENZO (bass), KITCH (drums) who performed a wicked Hey Joe. KEITH (guitar) congrats on the Music Degree! gave us a wicked Instrumental with KITCH (drums), LES (bass). Swiftly followed by PAUL (guitar), ROMA & TASHA (vocals), STEVE GREEN (guitar/vocals), LES (bass), STEFFAN (drums), JOHN V (guitar) - and to finish the night off our very own MALCOLM (guitar) - an x Fender/Arbiter demonstrator himself he gave Eddie a run for his money!!, KITCH (drums), DAVE (Bass), JOHN V(guitar) & Yours Truly on Vocals stomped the night to a resounding end with TORE DOWN. Special Thanks to EDDIE ALLEN, ARBITER LEISURE, FENDER, ALAN (who kindly helped with the equipment) and the guys who provided the equipment KITCH (drums), DAVE (bass), JOHN (P.A.), BEAR (DJ) and CYRIL & LINDA on the door.

13th April 1999:- FUNDRAISING FOR FORTY HALL

The night began with a bang - thanks to the boys from BLULIX and organiser Tracey who started the evenings enertainment - in startling contrast KEN MARTIN completely awed the audience with just his incredible voice (his new single will be available later this year), swiftly followed by the VIRTUAL BISCUIT BAND whose vibrant violin resonated beautifully amongst the beams of Forty Hall and set the stage for local celebrities RICHARD RIDINGS and TONY DOLAN whose warm rich vocals and melodic songs showed acoustic music at its best. RICK & ALAN teamed up with MARTIN (CRUISING MOOSES) and MALCOLM (Guitar) for a couple of crowd cheering stompers whilst bless 'em CATFISH (reformed for the night) rocked on in inimitable style to everyones delight. Jammers who came along to support the event (and apologies to anyone who did not have the opportunity to play that night or whose name I haven't mentioned - sorry, sorry, sorry) include The HAIL MARY'S and Steve & Co who ended the evening with a rather cool rendition of Cant Always Get What You Want. Thank You to everyone who came to support the evening - we raised over £500.00 - WELL DONE!!

Thanks also to the companies who donated prizes for the event - who are: UCI Cinema's @ Pickets Lock, Enfield - wicked banners/standee's & posters! David Lloyd Centres, Caterhatch Lane, Enfield - bowling/health & rackets passes. Rooz Music, High Street, Ponders End - who are a veritable treasure trove of strings, sticks and musical paraphanelia, also hire new & 2nd hand equipment.
