Well, what can I say about the man mountain that I have known since the age of 4?
We first met in the reception class of Fleecefield Primary School, Edmonton, London in 1975. My Mum, being just as worried then as she is now, didn't want to leave me. It was at this point that John, looking like the prototype of Cartman from Southpark, came over & said "Don't worry missus, I'll look after him!"
We have grown up together, got drunk together, but have very rarely argued. In 1994 John finally settled down & got married. He and his wife Jeanie also presented the world with Katie, my god daughter! In 1997 Katie got a little brother, Thomas & all this domesticity has meant an end to his old days. This is proved by the two photographs above, one (the little drummer boy) is from 1990 & the other one is from New Year's Eve 1998, on the eve of his 28th birthday. I wasn't suppose to put these pictures on the internet, but as I put up with him for so bloody long, I think I'm entitled!
Seriously though, John is the best mate I could have asked for & despite all his short fallings, he is a good lad really & has worked hard to make a comfortable life for his family. I'm proud of him.
