Music has been in my blood from an early age, It's just a shame that through lack of encouragement from those around me, & also the fact I'm a crap musician, that I still can't play very much on my expanding array of guitars. When I was just a little boy I saw Paul McCartney on the TV, playing his Rickenbacker 4001 bass. I noticed he was left handed like me & decided I liked his music on that premise alone. Luckily enough I found out later that I actually also liked the sound of his music! I class myself as a Phase 2 McCartney fan, as I found him during Wings. I discovered The Beatles in the Mid 80's when I purchased Sgt Pepper & The Blue Album from a Sunday Market, and now I'm known as a bit of a Beatle fan. As my horizons broadened I found much other material from other artists that I liked. My taste for 60's music in the form of The Beatles/Shadows/Small Faces/Who/Kinks/Hollies sounding tunes was totally uninfluenced by my parents as they were 50's teenagers who actually remember the 60's as being just another 10 years! If you were to happen upon my music collection you would find that The Beatles/Paul McCartney, Sheryl Crow, Extreme, Jimi Hendrix, Little Angels, Pink Floyd, Queen, Squeeze & Status Quo hold the largest number of entries, but lets not forget 10cc, Aerosmith, Paul Carrack, Eric Clapton, Crowded House, Dan Reed Network, The Hamsters & the other 200 or so artists that you'd find there. I think you'd probably conclude that my collection covers the first signs of Britpop in the form of the best the 60's had to offer, through 70's rock & pop from both sides of the Atlantic, through many a respectable artist from the dodgy 80's & right back to Britpop in the 90's.
