Custom Options Not every option is catered for by one of the simple options we offer. We realise that every website will be different in appearance and functionality and therefore the 1 Page Business Card & 3 Page Brochure websites represent suggested blueprints to act as a launch pad and be built upon to create your custom option. The options we will talk about on this page are obvious extensions to the existing specifications of the 2 simple websites we offer, but will truly shape a unique website for you. As these are custom options, the costs will vary so please email us for a full consultation. Adding extra pages to a website is the most obvious step in moulding a custom website. Extra webpages would involve modifying the navigational buttons on all the other pages of your website, as required. The cost of adding an additional page with vary depending on content. If it is to contain the same content as a standard 'brochure page' (text, 2 images, navigation and email and map buttons) the cost will be £25 for 1 extra page, but this will vary according to content and the number of additional pages required. It is always possible to add extra photos, drawings, illustrations and graphic content to your website, either on the existing pages or on addition pages. The images/photographs/logos would be 'camera ready artwork' that we can scan or supplied to us on a disk. If we need to take photographs or design artwork for your logo, etc. There maybe a further additional small charge. Flash interactivity is a relatively new technology that is appearing moreso on new websites. Flash allows for a number previously unavailable features such as animation, movies, multimedia interaction (such as problem solving or fact finding). MP3, Midi, WAV and any other sound files can be added to your website, as can various formats of movie files. Please remember though, that this can only be done once you have provided us with express permission of the copyright holder, or have proof that the files are free of any copyright. Ecommerce is another increasingly popular option and one that allows you to trade worldwide across the internet. We currently use an Ecommerce solution that hosts your webshop for you and charges a monthly subscription of up to £19.99 a month. The reason we do this is you can then be guaranteed to offer a secure shopping experience to your clients and the Ecommerce solution comes with software that we will install on your own PC, so you can update your own shop and stock levels. In order to trade on the internet using Ecommerce, you also need to have an Internet Merchant Account, which a facility that allows you to securely take credit card payments online. Internet Merchant Accounts collect funds from online transactions and then transfer the funds to a bank account of your choosing. For this purpose we suggest using a UK company called Protx. Some providers of Internet Merchant Accounts charge a set up fee and then a commission on your transactions. Protx do not charge a set up fee and charge a flat monthly fee of £20 (ex vat) if you have less than 1000 transactions per quarter or 10p a transaction (instead of the flat fee) if you exceed 1000 transactions per quarter. Internet Merchant Accounts collect funds from online transactions and then transfer the funds to a bank account of your choosing. Another FREE ecommerce solution that is now available is Paypal. This simply involves setting up a FREE business account with Paypal and they will provide you options for adding a shopping cart to your website, or for adding their payment handling to your existing cart. Paypal do not charge anything other than a fee on each transaction, so if you sell nothing, it will cost you nothing. Website hosting through Namesco costs from £4.99 a month on top of the design fee.
